About the event

Often with family and work demands, women can find it difficult to prioritize their own health. Inadvertently putting a lower priority on health can lead to dire consequences for women. In the United States, heart disease and cancer are the two leading causes of death among women. In addition, 42% of women live with obesity and 45.2% live with hypertension. Research shows that plant-based eating can help women of all ages, around the world, to prevent and survive all of these diseases.
FFL’s Women’s Wellness Weekend campaign is designed to help women around the world to learn about the role that plant-based eating can play in achieving optimal health. Our goal is to encourage women to take charge of their health by creating healthier habits to prevent disease, and also to support other women on their journeys to optimal health in a supportive community setting.
